On the Sunday of All Saints of Russia, June 18, 2023, Holy Ascension Church was presented with a new icon of Holy Righteous Alexei of Moscow along with a particle of his honorable relics.
The particle of the honorable relics of Saint Alexei was given to the parish in 2018. The iconographer, Pavel Tikhomirov, prepared the icon recently.
After the Prayer Behind the Ambo had been read during Liturgy, the choir sang the Troparion hymn to Saint Alexei. The Father Rector brought out of the Altar through the Royal Doors the icon of the holy one accompanied by the deacons and acolytes. After the icon had been blessed, Father Rector gave a sermon on the Saints of the Day (Holy Pricne Igor of Chernigov and Blessed Hierarch Constantine, Metropolitan of Kiev) and also offered a brief biographical sketch of Holy Righteous Alexei of Moscow.
