Dear Parishioners,
As you may have noticed, the number of acolytes has increased and our vestry does not have enough sticharions in gold for our daily use. That is why the servers are wearing a variety of colors: gold, red, and even blue. It would be proper if every server’s vestment color matched the season and furnishings in our church.
The Merciful Lord has opened an opportunity for us to improve this situation. We have found 14 new gold sticharions for $2120.00; approximately $150/unit.
We are appealing to everyone who loves the beauty of God’s house for financial assistance in filling out our vestry.
1) On Sunday, the 19th of November, we will hold our Annual Turkey Dinner. At that time we will have a lottery. The income collected from that will go toward this expense.
2) On the last Sunday before the Nativity Lent, November 26th, the brotherhood of our community will prepare pork pilaf for sale after the Divine Liturgy. Again, the proceeds will help to cover the expenses of this project.
Of course, anyone is welcome to assist by bringing a donation directly to the candle counter and handing it to our Church Warden.
We thank you in advance.
With love in Christ,
Reverend Paul Volmensky, Rector
